RED WINES
AOC CÔTES DE CASTILLON:
A great red from the Bordeaux region. A vineyard of about ten hectares (25 acres) ideally located on a plateau just next to the St Emilion appellation. Planted mainly with Merlot (60%), it produces a rich, supple, expressive wine with remarkable ageing potential.
AOC MONTRAVEL:
Officially recognised (for red wines) since the 2001 vintage, the Montravel AOC is the pride of Bergerac red wines. Plantation density and careful work on the vines, maturing in oak barrels, official tasting after bottling - these are all guarantees that contribute to magnifying one essential quality - the authentic character of a terroir. That of Vignobles LEY is one of the most prestigious in the Dordogne. The AOC MONTRAVEL cuvées made with grapes from selected plots matured with the greatest care and attention are proof of this with their power, complexity and the pleasure they procure to those who take the time to get to know them.
AOC BERGERAC:
A fine, rounded wine rich in fruity aromas made specially for all those who know that the combination of Merlot (50%), Cabernet Franc (25 %) and Cabernet
Sauvignon (25 %) brings out the best in the vines thanks to traditional winemaking and maturing methods.
ROSE WINE
AOC BERGERAC:
No compromises in the making of this flamboyant explosion of Cabernet Sauvignon aromas. Optimal ripeness, extraction of the wine by bleeding off and maturing on the lees - maximum pleasure guaranteed.
DRY WHITE WINES
AOC MONTRAVEL:
Fruity and rounded despite being dry - that is the best way of describing this blend of Semillon (rounded on the palate) and Sauvignon (fruity and fresh) that is matured on the lees for at least 6 months.
Certain cuvées are vinified directly in oak to blend the wood tannins in with those of the grapes selected to make this wine (mainly Sauvignon).
AOC BERGERAC:
Low-temperature vinification and a blend including 10 % of Muscadelle give this wine great elegance and youthful aromas. Ideal served with seafood or grilled fish - and makes a perfect aperitif …
SWEET WHITE WINE
AOC CÔTES DE MONTRAVEL:
A selection of plots (old vines more than 30 years old) and 100% over-ripe Semillon grapes (botrytis) - those are the secrets behind the long, sweet qualities that make this wine the ideal aperitif and perfect served with foie gras and desserts.
Tomorrow, the wines of Vignobles LEY
are sure to feature among your favourites in your cellar.
