VIGNOBLES LEY: A HISTORY - A KNOW-HOW - A PASSION

Since 1964 Jean-René LEY has devoted all his efforts to renovating and improving 30 hectares initially in the BERGERAC and CÔTES DE CASTILLON appellation areas.

Vignobles LEY today are composed of 70 Hectares of AOC BERGERAC,MONTRAVEL and CÔTES DE CASTILLON and present a range of wines crafted with the greatest care and attention by DOMAINE DES TEMPLIERS and CHÂTEAU MOULIN DE BEL-AIR .

Located on the clay-limestone slopes and plateau of St Michel de Montaigne, 45 km from BERGERAC and 9 km from ST EMILION, the VIGNOBLES LEY vineyards enjoy the very best conditions and a terroir that is quite unique in its appellation.

The different estates purchased over the years now form a stretch of land looking down onto the Dordogne, the area where the philospher Michel Eyquem de Montaigne was born and lived.

Today, 350,000 bottles of red wine in the CÔTES DE CASTILLON, BERGERAC and, since the 2001 vintage, MONTRAVEL AOCs are sold by Vignobles LEY, along with 50,000 bottles of dry or sweet white wines in the BERGERAC, MONTRAVEL and CÔTES DE MONTRAVEL appellations.

CHÂTEAU DES TEMPLIERS, CHÂTEAU LE CASTELLOT and CHÂTEAU MOULIN DE BEL-AIR are much appreciated by their international clientele (10 countries) and regularly win awards for their great quality.

CHÂTEAU DES ROCS, in the CÔTES DE CASTILLON AOC, produces about 50,000 bottles each year and its wines are mainly distributed in France to a select clientele of very faithful individual clients.
